Movie times, tickets, directions, trailers, and more for Cinemark Palace at The Plaza, located at 526 Nichols Rd., Kansas City, MO.
We went here to see 'The Secret Life of Pets.' People talking. People constantly getting up and leaving and coming back. People playing with their phones. People flat out taking phone calls.these all happened, and are all a possibility when you come here. Also, there was not a SINGLE visit to the theater from an employee throughout the movie.
It's like management has decided to just waive the white flag. The prices are good, as was the theater itself. Just be prepared for a noisy, inconsiderate crowd when you go here. It's a roll of the dice.
We love this theater because of its location (The Plaza is a fun place), and its prices. We buy the yearly reusable cup ($3.50 refills) which is large enough for two people to share, and it makes for an affordable movie night.
Mike, who usually takes the tickets, is always very friendly and will brighten your day. The only downfall of this theater is the concession stands can be extremely slow and there has been younger people theater hopping and talking during the movie the last couple times we've been there. People coming in randomly in the middle of the movie makes you a little nervous in today's world, but there's never been any problems. We will continue to go here because you just can't beat the prices. Hopefully they will start to stop some of the theater hopping soon.
In the mall is the Cinepolis movie complex, and inside is the VIP lounge, 6 theaters with leather recliner seating and servers bringing food and beverages including cocktails to your seats. The VIP area has its own lounge, food and restrooms behind its turnstile entry. AND THE TICKETS WERE 116 mx pesos! The movie and sound were digital, the acoustics were great, and when you buy your tickets you select your seat just like an airline! Movies are English subtitled Spanish, some are dubbed. The website is great for picking film times and sub/dub selections. We saw 12 Years a Slave.
My wife ordered a marguerita, frozen, it was excellent. It was as if we were in a modern shopping mall in North America with a multitude of choices in all venues. Contrary to a comment on the local Chedraui - prices are much better than Walmart with a focus on what the locals are interested in purchasing. I don't know what a typical busy - crowded Walmart is but this Chadraui was filled with obvious local shoppers.
It must carry merchandise that they require. This is a large shopping spot which has a multitude of stores attractions - far too many for us to take time to investigate. We wanted to spend more time outside and on the beach or exploring Cancun proper.
If you're a serious shopper there are a lot of unique eateries, clothing shops etc. Movie Theatre.
All of this downtown and accessible via R1 Bus route.
